WWE NXT UK Takeover Tour

Once a Florida-based developmental territory for WWE, NXT has exploded in popularity since the launch of the WWE Network in February 2014. Spreading it's wings to California, Texas, New York and a number of other US States over the last 12 months. With the 7 night UK Takeover Tour seeing the promotion venturing to Europe for the very first time, we've got the lowdown on the biggest moments and best uploads from each stop on the tour.

Thursday 10th - Newcastle

A regular stop for WWE since 2004, Newcastle had the privilege of opening up the tour. Whilst the performers enjoyed a trip to the Angel of the North, the fans got excited for the Women of WWE, including the "Princess of Staten Island" Carmella and Alexa Bliss.

Friday 11th - Glasgow

Getting it's first WWE visit back in 1991, Glasgow has been WWE's Scottish city of choice for some time now. The lone stop north of the border had fans salivating in anticipation for the main event between Sami Zayn and Irish-born Finn Balor, whilst WWE's EVP of Talent Relations & Creative, Paul Levesque (perhaps better know by ring name, Triple H) tweeted a clip of the lively Hydro Arena crowd.

 Saturday 12th - Sheffield

After missing out on a main roster WWE show on the November European Tour, the fans in Sheffield were chomping at the bit to see some of their favourite wrestlers in the aptly named, Sheffield Arena. Whilst fans got to meet Bull Dempsey and Nia Jaxx, it seems like Samoa Joe, Chad Gable & Jason Jordan were just as excited to catch-up with hometown rock group, Bring Me The Horizan before bell-time.

Sunday 14th - Blackpool

The Empress Ballroom in Blackpool was a rather unique venue for the entertainment giants, as the company appeared in the Lancashire town for the very first time. The venue might have been intimate in setting, but, as the videos show, they made up for it in noise and sheer energy. Whilst legendary British grappler and current NXT coach, Robbie Brookside appeared to close the show, some of the roster also took time out to sample what their newest town had to offer.

Monday 14th - Nottingham

A show in Nottingham a regular fixture on WWE's touring schedule since their first appearance in the city in 2003, but with plenty of the companies wrestlers making their first trip to Nottingham, the fans were out in force once more. The villainous Emma took time to meet the cities hero, Robin Hood, before the crowd tucked into another action-packed show, including the likes of Bayley, Asuke and tag team duo, Blake & Murphy.

Tuesday 15th - Cardiff

The penultimate stop on the tour was the company's only stop in Wales, Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena. 86 year old Esme Pritchard, believed to be the oldest attendee of the tour was breaking hearts backstage, whilst Bayley finally answered the crowds burning question. Former UK Indy circuit favourite, Apollo Crews, also proved to be a popular participant on the tour.

The tour comes to a close today (16/12) in London at Wembley Arena with a big live broadcast on the WWE Network. With the fans and performers clearly having a ball throughout the tour, it can surely only be a matter of time before the brand makes it's return to the UK.
